A FORMER Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (Cafgu) member was shot dead by still unidentified suspect Thursday night at Sitio Lunao, Barangay Mailum in Bago City.

Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (Noppo) record showed the victim was identified as Emelio Vilbar Jr., 39, married and a resident of Barangay Ma-Ilum, Bago City. He was shot dead by an unidentified person for unknown reason.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on different parts of his body, causing his untimely death.

The suspect fled after the incident, while the victim was brought to Baxter Funeral homes for medical examination.

Recovered from the crime scene were five empty shells of 9mm pistol, one live ammunition, and one lighter color green.

In Sipalay City, Berly Aurino, 24, single and a resident of Purok 1, Barangay 3, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, was stabbed to death last Thursday by suspect Romeo Espino, 33, married, at Tupaz Video Bar and Refreshment, Barangay 2, Sipalay.

Espino is a resident of Calumpang, Molo, Iloilo City. Espino stabbed the victim for unknown reason.

Police officers of Sipalay, led by PO2 Wilfredo Tibo-oc, intercepted the suspect in a hot pursuit operation. The suspect is now detained at Sipalay City Police Station.

Also on Thursday, a body was found in Barangay Vito, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

The victim was identified as Jaime Sy, 59, single, a resident of Purok Sambag, Barangay Vito, Sagay City.

Initial investigation disclosed that the victim suffered stroke. He was last seen drunk at the area on Wednesday.

The cadaver was brought to St. Peter Memorial Chapel. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
