SAN Miguel, Bulacan — A former village chief and husband of the incumbent barangay captain of Bgy. Tibagan was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Biak na Bato, here, on Monday.

The victim, identified as Enrico Legaspi, alias Rico, 52, married, of Bgy. Tibagan, San Miguel, Bulacan, was shot at about 4:30 p.m.

Police said the victim was on his way home on board a tricycle when two unidentified men on board a motorcycle suddenly appeared beside him.

The motorcycle’s backrider drew a gun and shot the victim in the left ear. The suspects quickly fled.

The victim, the husband of Bgy. Chair Josie Legaspi, was rushed to Emmanuel Vera Hospital in Bgy. San Jose, San Miguel, Bulacan, where he expired while undergoing treatment.

Police are still conducting follow-up operation for  the arrest of the suspects.  Manny Balbin
