A GOVERNMENT employee was killed while two others were wounded when they were shot and stabbed by three armed men the other day in Bago City, Negros Occidental.
The victim who died while undergoing treatment in a hospital was identified as Arnel Rubaton, employee of Bago City Hall.
Taken to the nearest hospital for treatment were Wilfredo Rubaton and Romie Rubaton, both relatives of the fatality and residents of Bgy. Mailum in the said city.
Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 director Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr. said the incident occurred at around 7 p.m. in Bgy. Mailum.
Initial investigation showed the victims were walking on their way home when they chanced upon the suspects, identified as Vincent Bayog, Richard Bayog and Joseph Bayog, whom they engaged in a heated argument.
At the height of the argument, the suspects shot and stabbed the victims.
The suspects fled towards unknown direction while the victims were rushed to the hospital by concerned citizen.
Recovered from the crime scene were empty shells from 12-gauge shotgun and a bladed weapon.
Authorities are now conducting follow-up investigation to the incident.
