A SEPTUAGENARIAN man was gunned down by a motorcycle-riding gunman while manning his eatery located inside the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City last Saturday.

The victim, identified as Domingo Taniegra 74, a resident of Antipolo City, died on the spot during the shooting incident that took place at his eatery at Picinic 1 Pavilion inside the Quezon Memorial Circle, Barangay Central.

Case investigator Pascual Fabreag said the victim sustained a fatal gunshot wound at the back of the head.

Police also found in the crime scene a spent shell of a .40 caliber bullet.

Fabreag learned from witnesses that an unidentified gunman was involved in the shooting and wore a white ball cap and a black sweatshirt.

Quezon City Memorial Circle security officer Arnulfo Casa said the gunman was seen hanging around the area before he approached from behind the victim who was sitting at his eatery.

Casa said the gunman was seen casually walking away towards Gate 5 where a male companion waited aboard a motorcycle which allegedly had no plate number. The two then drove away.

Domingo’s brother, Temis, 67, rushed all the way that afternoon from his home in Antipolo City after learning that his older brother got shot.

Temis said he did not know  any reason why his brother would be killed.
