A 32-year-old drunken man was in critical condition after he was shot by an unidentified man whom he accidentally bumped before dawn Thursday in Pasay City.
Roberto Ramirez, of San Lucas, San Pedro, Laguna, was still under observation at Pasay City General Hospital due to a gunshot wound in the back.
Pasay police chief of investigators Chief Insp. Joey Goforth said Ramirez, together with his friends Melchor Velasquez and Carmelito Ilam, was walking on the road at past 2 a.m. after a drinking spree when they accidentally bumped into three unidentified men.
This triggered a heated argument that almost led to a fist fight. But the victim and his companions let it go and boarded a jeepney bound for Malibay. Unknown to them, two men from the other group followed them on a motorcycle. One of them fired a gun, hitting the victim in the back.
The suspects escaped while the jeepney driver took Ramirez to the hospital.
