GUINAYANGAN, Quezon – A suspected drug pusher, who was arrested for possession of shabu and an unlicensed firearm, was killed Sunday noon after he allegedly tried to grab the gun of his police escort while boarding a police mobile car in Poblacion, this town.

Police reports identified the slain suspect as Emelito Ama Becenio alias Totoy Bansot, 44, of Barangay
Poblacion, Guinayangan, Quezon, allegedly a notorious drug pusher in Buenavista town.

Police recovered from Becenio a .22-caliber pistol with live ammunition, plastic sachets containing shabu worth P10,000.00, a cellular phone, and a black Suzuki motorcycle.

Chief Inspector Nimrod Balgemino, town police chief, said the police team was on their way to have the suspect undergo medical examination when Becenio was able to unlock his handcuffs and grabbed the 9mm pistol of a police offi cer who was then driving the patrol car.

At this juncture, PO1 Aguilar and PO1 Abel tried to subdue the suspect, but the gun went off during the scuffle. The bullet hit Becenio in the right lower jaw.

The cops rushed the suspect to Magsaysay Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival. (Danny J. Estacio)
