A TAXI driver got a new lease on life after he was robbed, hogtied and dumped by three holdupmen in Mandaluyong City early yesterday morning.

The victim identified as Moises Maiz Jr., 39, resident of Pantranco Compound, Pasong Tamo, Quezon City, reported the incident at the Mandaluyong City Police-Criminal Investigation Unit.

Initial investigation conducted by SPO1 Joemer Puzon showed the victim was driving his A&G taxi (UVX-676) around 11 a.m. along Jupiter St., Makati City, when three unidentified suspects boarded the vehicle.

Minutes later, one of the suspects sitting beside the driver, poked his gun while the two others pointed a knife.

The suspects ordered to stop the vehicle. One of them took over the wheel while the victim was hogtied and placed at the compartment.

Before the suspects got off, they took the driver’s P3,000 cash, then abandoned the victim along Queens Road, Samat St., Bgy. Highway Hills.

After the victim managed to remove the nylon cord around his hands and feet, he immediately went to the Mandaluyong Police Station.

The police are now conducting follow-up operation.
