MABINI, Batangas — A 39-year-old oiler of M/T Alexander V was gunned down during a drinking session the other night in Bgy. Mainaga, here.

The victim was identified by provincial police director Senior Supt. Omega Jireh D. Fidel as Joel Lazareto Salazar, of Titay, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Fidel identified the suspect as Tristan Miu Escaro, 31, married, barge man, of Miagao, Iloilo City.

PO3 Genaro Ortega Magmanlac, officer on case, said the victim and the suspect had drinking session at around 10:48 p.m. inside M/T Alexander V at the premises of Suntrak Corporation in Bgy. Mainaga.

A heated argument erupted between the duo when the suspect to pull out a cal. .45 pistol and shot the victim and quickly fled.

Salazar sustained gunshot wounds in the left chest and chin, causing his instantaneous death.

A Batangas SOCO team led by Chief Insp. Mylin A. Addag and the local police recovered a spent shell for cal. .45 pistol at the scene.
