CEBU, Philippines – An administrative officer of a State-run university died while a tattoo artist was injured in separate stabbing incidents in Cebu City over the weekend.

Danilo Pasaylo, 54, administrative officer V of the Cebu Technological University died of multiple stab wounds after he was attacked by still unidentified assailant in Barangay Talamban.

Pasaylo, resident of Saint John, Villa Leyson in Bacayan, was found lifeless at Minosa St., Talamban by Julito Solera who happened to pass by the area.

It was Solera who requested his nephew to inform the police and ask for assistance. An investigation conducted by the Homicide Section and the Crime Scene Investigation Unit revealed that the victim was found lying with multiple stab wounds while still holding his Giorgio Armani black leather shoulder bag.

Police investigators also recovered from the victim’s pockets his cellphone and his P100 bill. His Techno Sports wrist watch was found broken 14 meters away from his lifeless body.

Police Officer 3 Lou Pagara of the homicide section told The Freeman that robbery is one of the motives they are looking into. The police however have yet to find evidence to support the robbery angle because nobody was able to witness the crime.

In another stabbing incident, tattoo artist Raymundo Bermujo, 43, was injured when his younger brother stabbed him yesterday dawn without any provocation.

The stabbing happened inside their house at Urgello St. Barangay Sambag I. Bermujo identified his brother, Ronald, as the suspect.

Bermujo alleged that he was knocking on the main door of their house yesterday dawn but nobody answered prompting him to use the back door to gain entry.

While inside the house already, Bermujo claimed he immediately switched on the lights but to his surprise his brother stabbed him with a knife.

He claimed that his brother stabbed him several times but he was able to escape. Bermujo said he immediately sought the assistance of their neighbors who brought him to the Cebu City Medical Center.

The victim alleged that his younger brother was mad at him because he scolded the latter for maltreating his son a day before the incident.  – THE FREEMAN
