A medical technologist was shot and killed inside his clinic Monday afternoon in Quezon City by a man who accused him of having an illicit an affair with his wife.

Shameer Yousef Al-Qasem, 28, half Filipino, half Jordanian, was killed on the spot inside the QC Gen Health Laboratory and Medical Clinic on Seminary Road in Barangay Bahay Toro.

The gunman did not take anything from the victim.

The probers said the killing could be a crime of passion since the victim allegedly had an affair with the assailant’s wife last year.

The suspect entered the clinic around 2 p.m. and pretended to be a patient and  inquired about his complete blood count tests, supposedly for his employment as a tricycle driver.   

A doctor who witnessed the incident recalled the suspect first talked to the victim in Ilocano, the later responded in the same dialect. The man then went outside, supposedly to get his ID, but came back with a gun in hand and immediately shot Al-Qasem.

The victim managed to run inside the clinic’s kitchenette despite his wounds but he was followed by the suspect and finished him off.
