A COUPLE was killed while their co-teacher was critically wounded when unidentified armed men shot them while on their way home from their school the other day in Isabela City, Basilan.        The fatalities were identified as Rodolfo Saavedra and his wife Gloria Saavedra, residents of Bgy. Marketsite, Isabela City, Basilan.

Taken to the nearest hospital for treatment was Joy Cubico, of legal age and resident of the said place.

The incident occurred at around 2:30 p.m. in Bgy. Maloong Canal, Lamitan City, Basilan.

Initial investigation showed that the victims were on board a motorcycle on their way home when they were waylaid and shot by three unidentified suspects using caliber .45 revolver.

The couple died on the spot while their companion was rushed to a hospital in Isabela City.   

After the incident the suspects fled bringing with them the weapon they used in executing the crime.   

Authorities are now conducting follow up investigation to the incident
