Police identified the fatalities as Gregorio Yuayan and his wife Emely, both engaged in fishing business. They sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the different parts of his body.

A police report disclosed that the couple were on their way home aboard a pumpboat coming from Alicia about 6:45 p.m. when gunmen aboard another pumpboat sprayed them with bullets then fled towards unknown direction.

Fishermen wh witnessed the sea attack rushed the couple to the Ipil Provincial Hospital for treatment. Police have launched a manhunt operation against the attackers.
