MANILA, Philippines – A motorcycle-riding gunman shot dead an Army reservist in Pasig City on Saturday morning.
Senior Superintendent Mario Rariza, Pasig City police chief, said that the gunman and his cohort were later shot dead by responding policemen from Pasig and Taytay City.
Rariza identified the slain suspects as Abdulkadir Dipatuan and Mohalidin Sli Ebrahim.
Initial police reports said Army reservist and security guard Ignacio Mejia was shot dead by the suspects along C6 Road in Barangay Pinagbuhatan at around 9:40 a.m.
Alert policemen responded to the shooting incident and where engaged by the suspects in a gunfight.
Recovered from the suspects was a caliber .45 Norinco pistol.
The Pasig City Police is still looking deeper into the case to establish the motive behind the killing.
