The police have started investigating a break-in at the provincial capitol where unidentified persons managed to enter the provincial budget office.
Radio dzBB’s Palawan affiliate James Viernes said sketchy, initial police reports, did not immediately mention what items were taken from the office.
For now, police have started to interview employees at the provincial budget office to get leads on what happened, the report said.
Viernes reported that investigators are not discounting the possibility of the break-in being linked to a row over the use of royalties from the Malampaya gas project.
The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee is looking into a possible link between the alleged misuse of the Malampaya funds and the killing of Palawan broadcaster Gerardo Ortega in 2011. – VVP, GMA News
