CABANATUAN City – Police arrested Sunday morning a man suspected of stealing  a delivery van loaded with P300,000 worth of assorted merchandise.

City police chief Supt. Eliseo D. Cruz identified the suspect as Eduardo Corpuz, 30, of Purok 4, Barangay Sta.Arcadia, this city, a newly-hired driver of SXY department store owned by Victor Ong, 34, of Barangay Supermarket.

Ong complained that the suspect forcibly took his Isuzu van loaded with assorted dry goods and toys from his warehouse in Barangay Sumacab Este at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Cruz immediately dispatched his men who arrested the suspect at 3 a.m. Sunday at the house of his common-law wife in Barangay Sumacab Este.

The suspect’s arrest led to the recovery of the stolen van in Barangay Atate, Palayan City.

Criminal charges are being readied against the suspect, who was locked up.
