CAMP Olivas, Pampanga — A gay beautician and his friend were arrested by the police over the weekend in connection with the killing of another gay in Angeles City.
Police Regional Office 3 director Chief Supt. Raul D. Petrasanta identified the suspects as Jomar Howard Lopez and Aaron Fernandez, of Bgys. Pulongbulo and Pandan, respectively.
Petrasanta said the suspects were positively identified by witnesses as the persons who killed Joel Pamintuan, of EPZA Resettlement Area in Bgy. Pulung Cacutud, Angelels City.
Angeles City police director Senior Supt. Eden Ugale said the victim was last seen in the company of the suspects before he disappeared last Friday.
Ugale said the suspects invited the victim to a drinking session before killing him by smashing his head with a rock.
The suspects then dumped the lifeless body of the victim in a grassy area near the Abacan River in an attempt to hide the crime.
Police found the decomposing body of the victim after residents in the area reported about a foul odor coming from the river.
Investigators said the case is a crime of passion because the incident was masterminded by one of the suspects who reportedly discovered the secret affair of his boyfriend and the victim.
