Policemen shot dead one of the two alleged snatchers in Quezon City Friday night.

PO2 Julius Balbuena said the still unidentified suspect was positively identified by victim Jenny Lyn Pudadera, 29, as one of the two men who took her bag around 12:15 a.m. yesterday at the corner Sgt. Esguerra St. and Panay Avenue.

The suspect was killed by chasing policemen along Quezon Avenue near the Lung Center of the Philippines some 15 minutes after the robbery.

The suspect’s cohort escaped arrest when he sped away on a plate-less motorcycle. Police found in the possession of the slain suspect a homemade .38 caliber revolver and the victim’s bag.

Pudadera told probers she was walking when the two men on a motorbike blocked her path, grabbed her bag then drove away.

The victim sought assistance from a passing mobile patrol car manned by Insp. Carlito de Castro and PO1 Marlon Mecate.

After a flash alarm was sent on the robbery, another patrol team led by Insp. Dennis Francisco spotted the suspects described in the police radio along Quezon Avenue.

The policemen tried to flag down the suspect but responded by firing shots at them. The cops fired back and killed the suspect.
