A ROOKIE cop assigned in Bicutan was killed by four unknown suspects and for unknown reasons while he was having his cellphone loaded in Tondo, Manila at shortly past midnight yesterday.

PO1 Jessie Boy Lorenzo, 23,  a member of the Philippine National Police assigned at the RPSB in Bicutan, Taguig City, died instantly due to a gunshot wound in the head.

The identities of the suspects remain unknown. They fled the scene after the shooting.

Det. Anthony Boncan of the Manila Police District (MPD)-homicide section said that the incident happened at around 12:10 a.m. along Laurel Street, near Chesa Street in Tondo.

The victim was reportedly walking toward the LRT Station when he decided to buy load. The suspect then arrived and without any provocation, shot the victim in the head.

When the victim fell, one of the suspect’s companions took his gun while the others served as lookouts.  Itchie G. Cabayan
