BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental — Suspected hitmen shot dead Sunday a policeman inside a cockpit in barangay Balintawak, Escalante City, Negros Occidental. 

PO2 Johnny Panton Urbano succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in the head and body and was declared dead on arrival at the Vicente Gustilo District Hospital in Escalante City, said Chief Insp. Santiago Rapiz, Escalante police chief. 

Rapiz said that two hitmen, backed up by three others, successively shot Urbano, using .45 caliber and 9mm pistols, inside a cockpit owned by the family of his wife at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday. /INQUIRER
