A ROOKIE policeman was shot and wounded when he responded to a shooting alarm in barangay Bulacao, Cebu City on Monday night.

PO1 Richard Salceda, 28, was wounded in the right leg. He was assigned in Bulacao as a beat patrol policeman.

According to the investigation, Salceda rushed to South Road where habal-habal driver Diosdado Sonza, 30, was shot by a motorcycle-riding gunman.

When the policeman arrived at the crime scene, he saw two men on board a motorcycle about leave.

The backrider of the motorcycle fired at the policeman.

The policeman and the habal-habal driver were brought to a Cebu City hospital./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
