MANILA, Philippines – A policeman was hauled off to jail after he reportedly brandished his gun at a couple during an argument at a gas station in Quezon City.

Policemen from the Farview police station arrested Police Officer 3 Ernesto Castillo, 50, assigned with the Police Security Protection Office in Camp Crame.

Castillo’s arrest stemmed from a complaint filed by Editha Bernardo and her husband yesterday night.

Initial report showed that the Bernardo couple was gassing up at a gasoline station in Fairview around 10:45 p.m. when Castillo almost hit Editha with his car.

When Editha confronted Castillo about his reckless driving, the policeman, who was then in plainclothes, alighted from his vehicle and started cursing at the couple.

The suspect also threatened the couple while holding a loaded cal. 45 pistol. He was eventually disarmed and apprehended by policemen.

Castillo is now facing oral defamation, grave threat and illegal gun raps.
