A CASE of public scandal will be filed against a Cebu City police officer who allegedly fired his service firearm outside his home following a dispute with his wife in barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City at past 11 a.m yesterday.
PO3 Alvin Quimbo is now detained in Lapu-Lapu City police precinct after his wife Lalaine and brother-in-law Gilbert Berdin filed a complaint against him.
Police said Lalaine went to the home of Quimbo’s mother after a series of fights between her and her husband.
Lalaine reportedly lived at the home of Quimbo’s mother for the past six months, only visiting Canjulao for her children aged 16 and 14 years old.
Last Sunday, she went to Quimbo’s home only to see the police officer still there.
The two of them argued and Quimbo allegedly took out his service firearm and shot the front tires of a multi-cab vehicle.
In a radio interview, Lalaine claimed that Quimbo was drunk at the time.
“They always argue over things like money and other personal problems. It’s a couple’s fight,” SPO3 Jesus Jimenea, investigator of LCPO said.
He said Quimbo will still undergo a liquor test. Police recovered from the crime scene a gun and two empty shells of a .45 pistol.
Public scandal charges will be filed against Quimbo before the Lapu-Lapu City Prosecutor’s Office.
