MANILA, Philippines—A policeman was wounded in an early morning drive-by shooting in Paranaque City Monday morning, police said.

Initial reports from Paranaque police identified the victim as Police Officer 1 Cayetano Orquina, assigned at the police community precinct 2 of the same city.

Orquina was patrolling the area in front of the Anflo Management and Investment Corp. Building at 411 Quirino Avenue corner Mia Road in Tambo when unidentified suspects drove by on board a taxi and shot the victim.

The incident occurred at around 5 a.m. Orquina was with two other policemen identified as PO3 Luis Gazzingan and PO2 Jose Chito Argulles when the attack occurred.
