A member of the San Juan Police Station was wounded when shot while chasing riding-in-tandem robbery-holdup suspects during a follow-up operation in the said city Thursday night.

The victim, identified as PO2 Francis Revello, was rushed to the San Juan Medical Center due to gunshot wound in the face, according to Senior Supt. Joselito Daniel, San Juan police chief.

Revello was conducting follow-up operation after a robbery/holdup victim, identified as Asjulia Buhain, was held up by riding-in-tandem suspects on Pilar St. at around 9:10 p.m.

Buhain said she was walking on her way home when two suspects armed with cal. .45 declared a holdup and divested her of her belongings.

The victim reported the incident to the San Juan Police Station. Daniel immediately ordered a follow-up operation and dispatched a team led by Revello.

The policeman spotted the two suspects on board their motorcycle on P. Guevarra Street. While PO2 Revello was chasing, one of the suspects fired at the policeman, hitting him in the face.

When the policeman fell to the pavement, the suspects escaped.

Daniel has ordered a manhunt operation for the  suspects’ arrest.
