A police report disclosed that PO1 Samuel Secretario, 26, single, was driving his motorcycle at a secluded section of Barangay Datu Panas around 7 a.m. when armed men positioned along the road opened fire on him.

Secretario managed to drop on the ground as bullets grazed his head.

Police said the gunmen withdrew towards unknown direction thinking that Secretario was killed.

The policeman reported the incident to the nearest police station.

During ocular investigation, police recovered several spent shells of M-16 rifle where the ambushers positioned themselves.

The Buug police have launched hot pursuit operations for the arrest of the ambushers.
