MANILA, Philippines – A rookie policeman from Mandaluyong was charged for allegedly pointing his gun at three people, including a 16-year-old girl, in Sta. Mesa, Manila yesterday.
Police Officer 1 Ricardo dela Cruz will be charged with grave threats and violation of Republic Act 7610, the anti-child abuse law.
In her affidavit submitted to the Manila Police District (MPD) General Assignment Section, the girl said that at around 1:30 a.m., Dela Cruz reportedly kicked her and punched her in the face.
When she saw a gun tucked in Dela Cruz’s waistband, she ran.
Dela Cruz then proceeded to a nearby store and pointed his 9mm service firearm at 21-year-old Roman Perlas and Aldrick Elumacas, 23, who were then buying ice.
The three complained to the police, who later found Dela Cruz in a pub. Dela Cruz was arrested and brought to the MPD headquarters.
