CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines — Three men shot and killed a policeman and another man in a building in Mexico, Pampanga, on Tuesday.

Police found the bullet-riddled bodies of Police Officer 1 Redentor Almuede and Jose Luis Abellana, 34, inside a room of the Doña Isafel Building in Barangay Lagundi in Mexico at past 9 a.m., said Superintendent Ferdinand Perez, the town police chief.

Perez said a security guard of the SM City Pampanga, located next to the building, rushed to the scene of the crime upon hearing gunfire, but the guard was shot and wounded by the assailants who fled aboard a white Toyota Fortuner.

Investigators found an M-16 Armalite rifle, a 9mm gun and an Uzi pistol in the room rented by Abellana. Perez said police have not established the motive in the murder of Abellana and Almuede, a member of the police’s Special Action Force.
