In the midst of the Commission on Elections’ gun ban, a police officer allegedly shot to death a construction worker in Quezon City Sunday night.

The policeman, initially identified as PO2 Joel Rafael, surrendered to police shortly after the incident, radio dzBB’s Paulo Santos reported early Monday.

Rafael’s victim was identified as Asisclo Pascual Jr., who was shot in the head.

The shooting occurred in Cubao in Quezon City, where a witness saw the two having a verbal argument shortly before the shooting.

Rafael allegedly admitted to investigators that he was drunk at the time he shot Pascual. — DVM, GMA News
