A CONSTRUCTION worker was shot dead by his “kakosa” during a heated argument in Rodriguez, Rizal, yesterday morning.
Supt. Arthur Masungsong, Rodriguez chief of police, in his report to Senior Supt. Rolando Anduyan, Rizal police director, said Shoji Escuyos Satuna, alias “Warang,” 35, single, of Block 3, Lot 152, Kasiglahan Village, Bgy. San Jose, died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds in the body. The suspect, Rodel Rio Torres, alias “Boboy Kosa,” also of Kasiglahan Village, immediately escaped and is now the object of a police manhunt.
The incident occurred at 12 a.m. in Kasiglahan Village when residents were awakened by several gunshots. When they checked, they found the victim slumped dead on the ground.
One of the residents, who refused to be named, said he heard the victim shouting “Kosa ’wag, Boboy ’wag.”
The suspect, while fleeing, was heard saying to his live-in partner “Ma, patawad, patay na si Warang. Unahan niya ’ko kaya inunahan ko na lang.”
Allegedly, the drunk victim and the suspect had a heated argument that led to the killing of the victim. The relatives of the victim immediately called for funeral service.
The officer on case advised the relatives to have the victim’s body subjected for autopsy.
Probers recovered at the scene a fired cartridge case of a .38 revolver which they submitted to Rizal Police Crime Lab in Hilltop, Taytay, Rizal, for ballistic/cross matching examination.
