A CITY hall employee was stabbed dead by his drinking buddy during an argument Sunday evening in barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City.
Emmanuel Ulvida, a barangay environment officer under the City Mayor’s Office, was wounded in the chest.
He was declared already dead when he was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center.
His partner, Rogelio Suringa, 37, surrendered at the Fuente police station to PO2 Dexter Pusta Costillas Monday morning.
Investigation revealed that the victim and his neighbor Rodolfo Huradas, both residents of sitio Lubi, barangay Capitol Site, were drinking along the pathways of sitio Ipil, barangay Capitol Site, past 7 p.m.
Suringa and his cousin Junjun Amante arrived and joined the drinking session.
Police said Suringa confronted Ulvida about a previous grudge he had with Amante.
Amante told his cousin that they had already settled the problem.
Amante then left the area.
Suringa’s parents learned about the commotion and advised their son to leave.
He left but returned with a bladed weapon and stabbed Ulvida who was sitting in a chair.
The victim ran a few meters but fell down along the pathway.
Paramedics of Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF) immediately responded and tried to revive him.
