A barangay tanod chief was shot dead by unidentified suspects on his way to the cemetery in Bgy. Marawoy Tuesday afternoon.
Oscar de Castro Vergara, 56, married, chief tanod, of Bgy. Rizal, Lipa City was shot by two unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects.
PO3 Oliver del Morcilla and PO2 Rodel Silva said that at about 1:30 p.m., they received an information from a concerned citizen that a shooting incident was ongoing in Bgy. Marawoy.
Insp. Hazel Luma-Ang and duty investigators responded.
The victim was driving his owner type-jeep escorting a convoy to the Eternal Gardens when, upon reaching St. Francis Seminary in Bgy. Marawoy, he was shot at close range by the suspects.
