DAET, Camarines Norte — Municipal police commander Chief Insp. Victor Abarca said they are reviewing the CCTV camera to identify the three suspects who robbed at gunpoint the disbursing officer of the Department of Public Works and Highways district office on F. Pimentel Avenue at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 24.
Yesterday, Bicol police director Chief Supt. Victor Pelota Deona ordered the CamNor Police Provincial Office to create a tracking team to run after the suspects and establish their identities.
Police here, however, said they are eyeing “inside job” since the suspects entered the DPWH compound without being noticed by the security guards.
A report from Police Regional Office spokesperson Insp. Malon Calubaquid said an armed man took away at gunpoint a black money bag from DPWH Disbursing Officer Sonia Puse Mirasol, 55, and DPWH bookkeeper Evelyn Balon containing the P1,082,361 payroll of the district office while entering the administration building.
After the heist, the armed suspects fled on a red motorcycle while one of the armed men fired his handgun as they left the DPWH compound.
Witnesses reported that guards on duty at the DPWH was unable to react, unaware of the occurring crime at the Administration building.
Mirasol was rushed to Leon D. Hernandez Memorial Hospital after he was attacked by hypertension as a result of the incident.
