MANILA, Philippines – A bakery cashier was shot dead at the height of typhoon “Basyang” in Taguig City after she refused to give up the money in the cash register to a still unidentified robber last Wednesday.
Police said the robber took advantage of the storm and robbed Park n’ Go Bakery along M.L. Quezon street in Lower Bicutan at around 2 a.m. When assistant cashier Mary Naigen, 24, resisted, the assailant shot her twice.
Senior Superintendent Camilo Cascollan told The STAR Naigen’s co-worker, who witnessed the incident, could not identify the robber.
