A cashier was wounded after she was beaten up with a knuckle by a holdupper in Pasig City yesterday morning.

Senior Insp. Rodrigo de Dios, chief of the Station Investigation and Detection Management Branch  of the Pasig City police, identified the victim as Shirley Evangelista, 31, single, of 66 Hilltop St., Bgy. Bagong Ilog.

The victim sustained contusion and bruises in the body after she was beaten up by the suspectidentified as Redentor Pilande, 20, of  7 Intalan St., Bgy. Bagong Ilog.

The victim was walking at around 12:10 a.m. along Talipapa St., Pasig Blvd. when she was approached by the suspect who punched her on the chest, announced a holdup and took her cellphone.

The holdupper hurriedly left but the victim shouted for help and sought assistance from the Barangay Security Force (BSF).

The suspect was arrested later. He yielded the victim’s cellphone.
