MANILA, Philippines—A businessman was shot dead by two robbers on a motorcycle, then robbed, in front of his canteen Monday morning in Quezon City.

The victim was identified as Ronnie Bersano, 40, of Roosevelt Ave. in San Francisco del Monte, Quezon City.

He was shot around 11 a.m. in front of his “carinderia” (eatery) at 213 Roosevelt Ave., corner Osmeña street, by two robbers.

The gunmen took the victim’s gold necklace after shooting him.

Reports reaching the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit revealed that the victim was shirtless and that the robbers saw his gold necklace.
