A 14-YEAR-OLD boy was wounded in an accidental explosion inside an elementary school the other day in Catanauan, Quezon.
Taken to Bondoc Peninsula District Hospital for treatment was Angelo Santiago Cabahug, of Bgy. Catcutan.
Reports said the incident occurred at 7 a.m. inside the San Isidro Elementary School.
Investigators said prior to the incident, the victim and his friend, King Wilfred Pilar, were walking to school and found a 5.56 ammunition in front of the public market.
King took the ammunition and gave it to Angelo and brought it to their school.
While inside the school, Angelo tried to open the ammunition by sawing it off that triggered the explosion.
The victim was hit in the left palm and was rushed to the hospital.
Authorities are now conducting follow-up investigation into the incident.
