Bloody Good Friday claims nurse dead
What could have been a completely quiet observance of Good Friday in the city has turned into a nightmare inside a residence in Mansasa district, this city.
A drug suspect stabbed to death a lady nurse while wounding the mother and his mother who tried to stop him past 8 a.m. last Friday.
Police identified the victim as Salome S. Quibir, 36, a staff nurse of the Tagbilaran Community Hospital.
The victim who died on the spot sustained 54 stab wounds, according to Dr. John Bernaldez of the City Health Office.
The suspect, Mark Joseph Salao alias Biboy, 18, jumped through the high fence of the Quibir residence at 128 CPG East Ave., this city.
Eye witnesses said they noticed Salao’s strange attitude, causing commotion at the nearby Pablo compound. When the responding cops arrived at the scene, Salao eluded and scaled a seven-feet high fence and jumped after climbing a tree nearby.
Upon entering the house, the Quibirs were surprised when the suspect pulled the 37-year old nurse and started stabbing her. When Salome was already down on the floor, he also attacked Salud, 60, the mother who likewise sustained stab wounds.
Salud who recently arrived from the United States is in critical condition, placed under close watch by doctors at a hospital in the city.
The mother of the suspect, Clarita, 49, was also wounded after she tried to calm her son down.
The living room in the Quibir house is messed up with broken decors and figurines, turned tables and bloody floor.
Police said the suspect was arrested inside the house without any resistance. Prior the gruesome killing of the nurse, the suspect figured in a commotion in the neighborhood.
Police is investigating on the motive behind the killing, considering various angles.
