Bataan farmer killed with 105 stab wounds

MARIVELES, Bataan , Philippines – A 32-year-old farmer was found dead with 105 stab wounds in his private part using an icepick in the grassy spot of the upland village of Mountain View, this town, on Sunday night.
Superintendent Romell Velasco, Mariveles police chief, identified the victim as Benjamin Catubay, married, of Sitio Malasue, Barangay Mountain View, here, was found dead bathed in his own blood near a creek by police a team and his uncle who reported the incident to the authorities after the victim failed to return home.
The victim’s uncle, Romeo Llames, told Velasco that the victim went out to buy coffee and sugar, about 500 meters away from their house.
Velasco said the victim’s wife reportedly received a death threat few days ago stating that her husband allegedly abandoned a paramour who later on lost her sanity.
Police theorized that the texter was a relative of the woman who vowed revenge over the depressing incident.
Authorities are still evaluating information gathered from the neighborhood and friends of the victim.
