MANILA, Philippines – A barangay official from Bacoor, Cavite was rushed to a hospital Thursday night after she was shot by unidentified suspects.

The official is a supporter of Bacoor Mayor Strike Revilla and Cavite Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla, the wife of Senator Bong Revilla.

Congresswoman Revilla suspects that politics is the motive behind the attack, but she noted that investigations are still ongoing.

“Kahit anong iwas natin, nakikita natin ang anggulong pulitika. Pero iniintay natin ang imbestigasyon ng kapulisan at ang parallel investigation ng NBI,”

Two others were reportedly killed in the shooting.
