A VILLAGE official out on bail on charges of illegal seizure of chicks and illegal possession of firearms and explosives was shot and killed by a lone man in Samal town on Friday night, police said.
Arnold Pantig, 41, chair of Barangay Tagumpay in Orani town, came from a cockfight and was resting in front of a house in Rich Town subdivision in Samal when a man armed with a .45-cal. pistol approached and shot him at about 11 p.m. The gunman fled on a motorcycle driven by another man, reports said.
