A notorious holdupper and member of the “Bahala na Gang” was no match to a policewoman assigned at the Eastern Police District (EPD) after she fought back while being held up inside a passenger jeepney in Sta. Mesa, Manila, the other day.

EPD director Chief Supt. Miguel Laurel said PO2 Edlyn Arboy, assigned at District Investigation and Detective Management  Division (DIDMD), nabbed suspect Christhoper Berana, 34, BNG member, of 2596 Daguisnon St., Punta, Manila, after he fought back with her.

According to Arboy,  at around 6:45 a.m., she was on board a passenger jeepney on  her way to PRC Review Center  on Maysaysay Boulevard, Sta. Mesa, Manila.

While traversing at the area, the suspect who was seated far from the victim pulled out a bladed weapon and declared a holdup.

The suspect grabbed her bag containing review materials worth Php5,000 and a coin purse with Php200 inside it.

The lady cop resisted and introduced herself as a police officer but she was stabbed by the suspect in the left leg.

After a short struggle, the policewoman subdued the suspect and got hold of the bladed weapon.

The suspect was beaten up by angry residents before he was brought to the police station.

Recovered from the suspect was the policewoman’s bag.

The suspect was detained at the EPD headquarters facing charges of robbery and violation of the Omnibus Election Code.
