Army corporal stabbed dead in Laoag

MANILA, Philippines – An Army corporal was stabbed dead by two brothers while attending the wake of his grandfather in Laoag City early Wednesday.

Authorities identified the victim as Corporal Erwin Litao, 28, a resident of Cabungao, Apayao.

Initial reports said Litao was attending the wake of his grandfather in Barangay 9 when he got into a heated argument with brothers Zaldy and Melvin Martin. The two brothers then stabbed Litao repeatedly in the abdomen, causing his death.

Police are now set to file murder charges against the two.
