Robbers strike in Tablon, flee with over P.5 million
By MARK FRANCISCO and LITO RULONA – Correspondents Updated May 27, 2010 12:00 AM
ROBBERS struck and took off with a half a million-peso loot in Tablon on Tuesday night.
The robbery was staged by at least three men at SCF General Manpower Services located at Purok 4, Barangay Tablon.
The robbery was staged at around 7:10 pm by men armed with caliber .45 pistols.
They held company employees at gunpoint and fled with some P535 thousand using a red Honda XRM motorcycle. The motorcycle had no license plates.
There are suspicions that the motorcycle used by the robbers was the same one which taken by robbers earlier that day in Barangay Carmen. The Carmen robbers shot and killed a motorcycle driver.
Chief Insp. Ulysses Gere, chief of the Cugman police, said the money was intended for salaries.
SCF General Manpower Services, owned by Engr. Serafin Fuentes, provides manpower services to Nestle Philippines Inc. and other industrial firms.
According to the witnesses, one of the suspects served as a lookout. Only two barged into the office and quickly took the cash from Sharon Ordoña, the cashier.
Fuentes’s wife Gregoria said she was shocked to see the robbers pointing guns at people.
It took only less than five minutes for the armed men to stage the robbery.
Of the three suspects, only one concealed his face with a black bonnet.
Gere said the suspects fired several shots while fleeing when they saw that workers outside armed themselves with stones while they fled.
The police quickly sounded the alarm and ‘‘sealed’’ possible exit points. No arrest has been made yet.
