SANTIAGO, Agusan del Norte- An estmated eight kilos of gold ores were stolen by armed robbers from a mineral rod mill in Barangay San Isidro, Santiago on Sunday.

Barangay fficials here and Santiago municipal policemen reported that the 24-year old son of the mill owner was wounded when one of the armed robbers shot him.

The police identified said the victim, Jojo Biyog Beto, single, a miner and a resident of Barangay Curva, Santiago, Agusan del Norte, was brought to a hospital in Cabadbaran City for treatment.

Official barangay and police reports said the armed robbers suddenly opened fire at the rod mill and forcibly entered it while the owner, Pepito Beto, and his workers were processing gold ores from the mountainous areas of this town and adjacent Cabadbaran City.

As they were leaving after ransacking the mill, the suspects allegedly opened fire again.
