AN AMERICAN national and his 19-year-old Filipina companion were found dead with gunshot wounds on a beach in Opol, Misamis Oriental on Sunday.

Michael Allan Turner, 51, had a gunshot wound in the head while his companion identified only as “Mariza,” was shot twice in the stomach.

Police Regional Office 10 director Chief Supt. Catalino Rodriguez said the bodies of the two were discovered along the shore fronting Roan Beach Resort in Bgy. Tabok, Opol municipality, midnight on Sunday.

The American was identified through his ID and other personal belongings found at the crime scene.

Members of the Opol Municipal Police Station are still conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.                                                              Alfred Dalizon
