MANILA – One of two alleged snatchers who grabbed a woman’s handbag in Quezon City was shot dead by pursuing cops on Friday morning.

The victim, only identified as “Kendi,” positively identified her bag and cellphone which were strewn beside the body of the dead suspect.

However, Kendi said the dead suspect was not the same man who grabbed her bag.

“Naka-jacket yung humablot e, medyo malaki ang katawan nung humablot. Baka yung driver po yan,” said Kendi.

Kendi was standing in front of a supermarket along Sgt. Esguerra when the two suspects on board a motorcycle approached her. It was the back rider who grabbed her bag.

Policemen detailed in the area immediately chased the suspects but the back rider managed to escape.

They cornered the motorcycle driver in front of the Lung Center building along Quezon Avenue.

“Sinasamantala nila yung mga nagiisa sa madilim na lugar,” said Senior Superintendent Neri Ilagan, QCPD Deputy Director for Operations

The QCPD will beef up police visibility along Quezon Avenue to prevent criminal activities in the area. — Jacque Manabat, ABS-CBN News
