MANILA, Philippines — A suspected robber was killed in an encounter with police in San Pedro, Laguna.

The slain suspect, along with three other cohorts, allegedly robbed the house of a certain Roberto Bojas in United San Pedro Subdivision.

Responding policemen immediately set up a checkpoint and saw the four suspects along Masi Street.

The robbers then drove past the checkpoint and fired shots at the police, resulting in a shootout.

The slain suspect was left by his three cohorts, who escaped on board two motorcycles.
