A suspected robber was shot dead following an alleged shootout with police at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City before dawn Thursday.
The suspect, who was not immediately identified, had just mugged a woman near the memorial circle area when woman sought help from police, radio dzBB reported.
Police said they saw the suspect running toward the Quezon Memorial Circle and pursued him.
But while inside the public park, the suspect allegedly drew a handgun and fired at the police, triggering the shootout.
Recovered from the suspect was his handgun and the victim’s bag. — ELR, GMA News
