MANILA, Philippines – Six persons were killed while four others were injured when a bomb exploded at a residential area in Basilan late Tuesday night.

The bomb exploded around 10:20 p.m. near the San Vicente Ferrer Parish in Zone 6, Barangay Tumahubong in Sumisip, Basilan.

Three of the casualties were identified as: Linebel Cisneros, Lourdes Khadic Kitarol, and Elbert Gumuba.

The bombing incident occurred during a New Year’s Day party at the residence of a certain Caa Manuel Cisneros.

The explosives used were believed to be charges of a 105mm Howitzer.
