CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet — The Apayao Police Provincial Office (APPO) under provincial director, S/Supt. Albertlito Garcia, arrested the five suspects in the killing of two “chop-chop” victims at Flora, Apayao.
The suspects were identified as Oliver Aligan y Dagdagan, 21; Felix Dagdagan Jr. y Elibado, 22; Marcelino Dagdagan y Elibado, 42; Emerson Dagdagan y Elibado, 35, and George Palacay, all farmers and residents of Bgy. San Jose, Flora, Apayao.
It was reported that on July 3, 2013, Emerson Furagganan y Laureta and Reynante Menor y Antemano, both of legal age, farmers and residents of Bgy. San Jose, Flora, Apayao were missing.
Twelve days after, their mutilated cadavers were found buried in a shallow grave at the farmland of Felix Dagdagan Sr., several meters away from the hut where they were last seen alive.
Investigation revealed that on the evening of July 3, the victims and suspects had a drinking session at the nipa hut of Marcos Caligan. At the height of their session, Furagganan and Dagdagan had a misunderstanding that provoked Marcelino to hack Furagganan.
The suspects brought the body of the victim to the grassland of Marcos Caligan where they also killed Reynante Menor.
One witness told the police that he saw how the suspects maimed the victims while they threatened him that they would do the same to him if he will report to anyone.
The victims were set on fire when the witness left the place.
